Discovered in 1744, La Digue was named as such by Dufresne in 1768. Compared to other Seychelles Islands like Mahe or Praslin, La Digue is sparsely populated and very peaceful. This is the perfect place to get away for an ideal rejuvenating and relaxing vacation. There are only around twenty motorized vehicles in this heavenly island of about two thousand inhabitants.
Activities in La Digue
Make time to visit L'Union Coconut Plantation which is a museum demonstrating techniques of coconut processing. The Yellow House is a landmark of this island which you must not miss. Whether you are a bird watcher or not, the black paradise flycatcher would certainly fascinate you. Endemic to Seychelles, the male of this bird species is characterized by stunning tail feathers.
