- How to Reach: Unlike the other destinations in China, it is a bit difficult to get into Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic and Historic Interest Area. Though the majority of the tourists reach there by a 10-hour bus ride from Chengdu, there are also other means of transportation available to reach Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic and Historic Interest Area.
The nearest airport is Jiuzhaigou Huanglong Airport (JZH), located in Songpan, 88 km away from Jiuzhaigou and 54 km away from Huanglong. Air China, China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines, and Sichuan Airlines flights are available from Chengdu.
Bus services are available from various destinations like Chengdu (10 hours), Songpan (2 hours) etc.

The area is covered with dense vegetation where you will find an impressive collection of wildlife including endangered species like the giant panda, golden monkey, gnu, white-lip deer, black-neck crane, swan, lovebirds, red-belly golden pheasant, snow leopard, forest musk deer, and many others.
Visiting Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic and Historic Interest Area
- Shuzheng Valley:
It is the main tourist route of Jiuzhaigou Valley Scenic and Historic Interest Area. This 40 km long valley is known for over 40 colorful lakes which are true delights for the eyes. Visit the major spots like Double-Dragon Lake, Tiger Lake, Bonsai Beach, Spark Lake, Shuzheng Waterfall, Rhinoceros Lake, Reed Lake, and Nuorilang Waterfall.
- Rize Valley:
The major attractions at Rize Valley include Mirror Lake, covered by forests, Peacock River with variety of colors, Five-Flower Lake with colorful water, Panda Lake and Virgin Forest.
- Zechawa Valley:
This 18 km long valley is the longest and the highest route in Jiuzhaigou. The main attractions of Zechawa Valley include Magic Mirror Cliff, Seasonal Lakes, Five-Colored Pond, and Long Lake or Chang Lake.
- Zharu Valley:
If you want to experience the strong cultural tradition of the area, then you must come at the Zharu Valley. Along with Tibetan rurality, you will also experience the unique Benbo religious sect. You should also go to the 3 km long Horse. The Zharu Bridge, a typical Tibetan wooden bridge over the Feicui River is also a major attraction in Zharu Valley.
