Nam Ha Protected Area in Laos is a well-protected Heritage Park frequented by naturalists, research scholars, water sports enthusiasts, trekkers, and tourists. Spread over an expanse of nearly 2225 square kilometers, its terrain varies from Luang Namtha lowlands to northern highlands of 2000 meters high in northern Laos. This protected park with a wide topographical variety supports an equally varied vegetation and animal life.

This forestland, interspersed with numerous streams and rivulets, has a cover of evergreen trees, broad-leafed temperate vegetation, and secondary trees. Among the mammals you would discover here includes at least six ungulate species including muntjac deer and gaur, tiger, leopard, clouded leopard, and Asian elephants. Bird watchers would be elated to discover Blyth's kingfisher, silver pheasant, green-tailed sunbird, whiskered Yuhina, ashy-throated warbler, and even crimson-breasted woodpecker if lucky.
Activities at Nam Ha

Nam Ha has something to offer for all sorts of visitors. Trekkers would be thrilled to cover routes through dense tropical forested lands and mountain streams. Intriguing cave networks would leave you baffled in Nam Ha National Park. If not on foot, these tracts can also be covered by cycles or mountain bikes. Rock climbers would be enthused at the climbing possibilities on the higher mountain slopes. On the lower slopes, white water rafting is a highly inspiring activity.
