Weather

The climate of Sri Lanka is mainly marine tropical. The summer season is hot and humid while the winter months are mild and more or less dry. Rainfall ranges from moderate to high. The best time to travel to Sri Lanka is between the months of October and March. The weather is this part of the year is pleasant with less rainfall.
 


Transportation

Air: Air travel is one of the chief modes of transportation in Sri Lanka. The international airport named Bandaranaike International Airport is located in the outskirts of Colombo. It links the country with various parts of the world. There are also some smaller airports and air strips.

Rail: The railway network connects most parts of the country with each other. The railway network is operated by the Sri Lanka Railways.

Road: Road transport is well developed in the country and the buses and cars are staple means of transportation. Roads connect most parts of Sri Lanka with places like Colombo, Galle, and Kandy, Dambula, Jaffna and other prominent cities.
