The Ben Thanh Market is the nerve center of the Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. History of the Ben Thanh Market
Ben Thanh market in Ho Chi Minh City was set up during the French occupation in the 19th century. It was originally located on the bank of Ben Nghe River near Gia Din Fort until 1899 when it was shifted to the current location in 1912 and was called the New Ben Thanh Market. The building was later renovated in 1985.
