Scuba Diving in Ao Nang is amongst the most spectacular underwater dives in the world. With more than eighty coral species and above two hundred varieties of fishes, the waters of Ao Nang are a diver's heaven. Lying within Hat Nopparat Thara Mu Koh Phi Phi Marine National Park, Ao Nang diving area extends to the waters surrounding the seven islands spread around Koh Poda.

Each of the seven islands, Koh Yawasam, Koh Yawabon, Koh Dor, Koh Ha, Koh Talu, Koh Si, and G.K. Island has its own unique marine world, together forming an alluring visible ensemble. Koh Ha is famous for its crabs and shrimp varieties. On the beaches you would discover leopard sharks, barracuda, and squids lying in the sun. Koh Yawasam and Koh Si are perhaps the best snorkeling destinations among this group of seven islands of Ao Nang. Clear visibility allows a fantastic view of seahorses, scorpion fishes, sea whips, and barrel corals. There is also the possibility of viewing the black-tipped reef sharks that normally keep away from humans. Koh Yawasam has huge expanses of shallow water excellent for snorkeling and coral viewing.

Koh Talu, with its twin shallow swim troughs, is safe for inexperienced divers. Long stretches of corals up to G.K Island make a fabulous underwater sight. G.K. Island is a veritable paradise under water. Though on the surface it appears small, the underwater coral plateau extends limitlessly. Every rock is covered with brilliant corals and inhabited by gorgonians and sea whips. The crevices abound in sea snakes. Koh Yawabon, with large stretches of no light zone, should only be explored by the most experienced divers.
