Chelsea Flower Festival is an iconic gardening event attracting world acclaimed designers, redoubtable flower growers, and ever-enthusiastic visitors. This trendsetting event, held in May every year in London, introduces the latest gardening products, showcases current gardening techniques, and creates an explosion in fragrance and colors. This show, organized by Royal Horticultural Society, is scheduled to be held between 19th and 23rd May in 2009.

Royal Horticultural Society in London is committed to promoting good gardening in the UK. They aim at creating a conscious awareness among the masses about the advantages of gardening and its benefit to society at large. To take it further ahead, RHS organizes flower shows, seminars, school gardening campaigns, and community gardening programs. The Chelsea Flower Show

This glamorous flower show is featured by Show Gardens, Courtyard Gardens, Urban Gardens, The Great Pavilion, Floral Design Marquee, and gardening products. The Show Gardens are created by world-leading garden designers and landscape architects. The Courtyard Gardens are the inspiration for setting up a garden in backyards or lawns and as such is always thronged by visitors. The Great Pavilion is a riot of colors from a display of flowering plants grown by Chelsea gardeners, and nurseries.

This flower show is held in the Royal Hospital compounds in Chelsea in London. Babies in arms, children under five years, prams and pushchairs are not allowed inside the show premises for reasons of safety. Tickets are sold to the public subject to certain terms and conditions. Re-admission is not allowed on a ticket, and limited refunds are applied to the show getting canceled or curtailed.

Most displays are on open ground and proper precautions are required to be taken in case of unfavorable weather conditions. Inside the show grounds, no pets are allowed except for assistance and guide dogs.

Western Avenue & Creek Gate Food Courts serve a wide variety of hot and cold meals from 8 am till 8 pm except for Saturday when it remains open till 5:30 pm. Jacket potatoes, ice cream, and crepes are among the notable items. Loch Fyne Seafood and Champagne Restaurant overlooking the Bandstand, has got a large sitting area. It is famous for its seafood items, sandwiches, cream, and champagne. At the Rock Bank Restaurant, you could enjoy full English breakfast, late afternoon or early evening meals, and three-course lunch. Ranelagh Bistro, done up in modern díécor, is renowned for its chicken caesar salad, steak ciabatta, salmon Nicoise and a wide selection of desserts.
