- How to reach: The nearest airports are at Pisa and Genova. All the Cinque Terre villages are well-connected by rail and each of the villages has a train station. Frequent trains to Cinque Terre are available from Genoa and La Spezia. Apart from air and rail access, you may take the 'litoranea' road from La Spezia and it will take around 20-30 minutes from La Spezia to drive to Riomaggiore or Manarola.
- Parking: There are small pay parking lots in the towns of Monterosso and Riomaggiore. Levanto has many parking areas.

The main attraction of the Cinque Terre is its exquisite landscape. Mediterranean herbs and trees grow abundantly from the top of the hills down to the water level and they all add to the beauty of the place.

Depending on the time of the year there are some specific sites to visit and they include the lightning Nativity in Manarola (December 8th till late January), the patron festivity of the 5 towns (between late May and August), the pirates attack in Vernazza (mid summer), the harvest (early/ mid September) and wine making.

The best way to explore and enjoy the Cinque Terre is on foot. While walking along the mountain side, you go through the Mediterranean bush. The Cinque Terre is traversed by several pathways and the main trail goes along the coast and connects all the villages in 5 hours' walk.

As located on the Mediterranean, seafood is plentiful as the local cuisine. Some of the local specialties are Focaccia, a baked product and Farinata, a typical snack found in bakeries and pizzerias.
The mountainsides of the Cinque Terre are used to cultivate grapes and olives and the grapes are used to produce two locally made wines, namely the eponymous Cinque Terre and the Sciachetra. In addition to them, other popular local drinks include grappa, a brandy and limoncello, a sweet liqueur flavored with lemons.
The Cinque Terre, forming one of the most unspoiled areas of the Mediterranean, is a kingdom of natural resources and wild fragrance retained as in the past.
