It is the home to the largest collection of Van Gogh's paintings and drawings in the world. It was in the year 1973, when the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam opened for the first time for the visitors. Designed by Dutch architect Gerrit Rietveld, this museum has got about 200 paintings, 500 drawings and 700 letters. There are also a number of Japanese prints, which were believed to be Gough's own collection.

Visiting Van Gogh Museum

Visiting Van Gogh Museum is a unique experience. The permanent collection of the museum includes a number of paintings, drawings, and letters of Van Gogh. His works that you will see here can be divided into several categories including landscapes, self-portraits, portraits, drawings, peasant life, and still life etc. The display of the various phases of Van Gogh's life, from his early childhood to the various emotional stages of this life, is just awesome.
