Mallorca or Majorca is a virtual paradise in the Mediterranean lying east of Spanish mainland. Its three S's, the sea, the sand and the sun attract nearly 10 million visitors every year. Being an island, tourists might be misled in considering Mallorca in Spain only as a beach destination. Its northwestern coast is remarkable for its Serra de Tramuntana mountain range, pine forests, olive groves, quaint villages and ragged shore.

The beaches stretch along the northern and eastern coasts of Mallorca in Mediterranean. It is on the eastern coast that you would experience the fabulous three S's along the continuous belt of sandy bays. If you are on the look out for beaches which are different from the normal ones, the southern coast is the perfect place. These beaches are surrounded by cliffs forming peaceful coves.

Palma de Mallorca, referred to as 'Mallorca' towards the west of the island in the southern coast, is the capital and main tourist attraction of Majorca. From Palma witness an unforgettable sunrise and visit the numerous coves and beaches.

Before indulging in water activities it is advisable to go around the island visiting the tourist sites. Begin your tour by visiting Palma's Cathedral completed in 1600 and renovated by Antoni Gaudi in 20th century beginning. Banys Arabs or Arab Baths are the remnants of Muslim domination of this island. Make time to visit Joan Miro's Art Foundtion wherein there is a display is drawings, paintings, and sculptures. The Palau de l'Almudaina is a Muslim castle converted to the residence of local kings after 13th century.
