When to Visit Sweden
Summer and autumn seasons from end May to September is the best time to visit Sweden. In Kiruna, north of Arctic Circle, the sun for 45 days - from May 31st to July 14th, stays above the horizon. Late June to middle of August is the peak vacationing period in Sweden when all hotels are packed. In Lappland the winter sets in October and extends till April. Snow of several meters depth allows for superb skiing, snowmobiling, and dog sleighing possibilities.
Travel to and within Sweden
Stockholm Arlanda is the main international airport of Sweden handling flights from all across the globe. Goteborg Landvetter is the other important Swedish international airport. Road travel within the Scandinavian countries is well developed. There are regular bus services from Stockholm and Goteborg in Sweden to Copenhagen in Denmark. Haparanda in Sweden is connected well with Tornio and Oulu in Finland. Bus service also exists between Stockholm and Tornio. Coach services operate between Stockholm and Goteborg in Sweden to Oslo in Norway.
Sweden is well connected with European counties through railways. Regular train services ply between Malmo is Sweden to Copenhagen, between Malmo and Berlin, and between Stockholm and Oslo.
