Fountains, Springs and Waterfalls
A fountain is a water body ushering from a source and filling a basin and thereafter flowing away. Fountains can be natural or artificial. Many gardens and tourist places are adorned with fountains which enhance the attraction of the place. The artificial fountains at the Brindavan Gardens in Karnataka, India is one of the biggest tourist attractions near the city of Mysore. A fountain can be of different type meant for attracting the visitors. Animated fountains are those where water gushes out as a laminar jet and then it moves following an animated pattern. These fountains have a specialty of splitting up in a ball of water and then exploding by splashing mist of water towards the spectators. Again musical fountain dances with the recorded or live music to entertain viewers.
Springs are water bodies gushing out of a source. Around the world there are various hot springs which serve a famous tourist spots. Geo-thermally heated groundwater gushes out of the earth's crust giving birth to the hot water springs. Often times due to excessive pressure these heated water gushes out of the earth bed in form of a geyser or a fountain. Yellowstone National Park in United States has many geyser basins where a visitor can see hot water gushing out of the earth's surface.
A waterfall is a water body evolving from a source of water and flowing over a erosion resistant rock. Through ages waterfalls have been attracting nature lovers and tourists. The famous Niagara Waterfall has its source in the Niagara River and is one of the best waterfalls in the world. Sometimes along the edge of a glacial trough a waterfall is generated and it flows down into a valley as the glacier is melted. Yosemite Valley has a large waterfall as the result of the glacier. It is also a famous tourist attraction appeals to the nature lovers to a great extent.
