How to Reach:
Rental Car
All major car rental companies have their booths at the baggage claim area of the McCarran airport. A rented car is the best way to reach the strip if you are not on a guided tour.
Taxi
You can hire a taxi from outside the airport. There is a long taxi line. Ask for help from the airport personnel who is stationed on the taxi curb to help you flag one.
Public Transportation:
Catch a shuttle coach at the north and west sides of the baggage claim areas, just outside door Exits 8 to 14. The most popular ones are Bell and Trans and Grayline Coach. However, there are others too. You can also opt for the Citizens Area Transit Bus System.
Nearest International Airport: McCarran International Airport, Las Vegas

Geographically, Las Vegas Boulevard South in the Paradise and Winchester areas excluding Clark County, Nevada are known as Las Vegas City Strip or only the Strip. The fascinating street is 6.4 km long and is dotted with numerous hotels, resorts, restaurants and casinos.

The Las Vegas Strip area, starting from the Stratosphere Hotel at the northern end and running all the way to the Mandalay Bay Resort at the southern end, is home to a number of attractions like
  • Eiffel Tower Experience at Paris Las Vegas: If you do not have the experience of traveling in Paris, you may come to Paris Las Vegas Casino Hotel which boasts of a 1/2-scale version of the iconic landmark.
  • Fountains of Bellagio: Bellagio's choreographed waters are famous for producing rippling sound effects. At night, it looks awesomely beautiful when the waters of Bellagio leap and sway inside a startling light show.
  • Gondola Rides at Venetian Las Vegas: The experience of cruising in an authentic Venetian gondola is restored as an attraction in the Las Vegas desert.
  • Guggenheim Museum at Venetian Las Vegas: With its treasured collection of art, it is one of the most cultured attractions of Las Vegas Strip.
  • King Tut Museum at Luxor Las Vegas: King Tutankhamun's tomb, invented in Egypt in 1922, has been reconstructed at Luxor Las Vegas with all its golden glory.
  • Las Vegas Fashion Show Mall: It draws the shoppers who appreciate the best retailers in the US.
  • Las Vegas Monorail: With stoppages at Mandalay Bay, Luxor, New York New York, Paris, Bellagio, Caesars Palace, the Venetian, the Las Vegas Hilton, and the Las Vegas Convention Center, the 4 mile route of the Las Vegas monorail is one of the most eye-popping paths in the country.
  • Red Rock Canyon: Located only a 20 minutes drive from the Las Vegas Strip, Red Rock Canyon offers an exciting entrance to the desert.
  • Stratosphere Tower: Owned by Whitehall Street Real Estate Funds, it is a tower, hotel and casino, located on the Las Vegas Strip. It is the northernmost of the major Strip casinos and the only one which is actually located in the city of Las Vegas.
  • Volcano at the Mirage: Known for its iconic Strip-front feature, the Volcano at the Mirage has been a signature attraction of Las Vegas.
Entertainment

Most of the fascinating attractions and absorbing shows on the Strip are located on the hotel casino properties. The famous old Las Vegas Shows include the shows featuring headline entertainment, performance of well-known bands, scantily-clad dancing girls and ribald humor. You can still find some of them on the Strip.

The afternoon and the early evening performances are usually family-oriented presentations while the late night performances are more adult-oriented. Some of the newer shows are even more extravagant than the former ones.

Shopping

The Strip is, undoubtedly, one of the best shopping hubs in Nevada. Numerous shops are scattered all over the area. Some of the well-known shopping centers are Bonanza Gift Store, Fashion Show Mall, the Forum Shops at Caesars, Grand Canal Shoppes, Miracle Mile.

Eating out

Since the time of Bugsy Siegel, Las Vegas has been famous not only for its gambling, but for its fine dining and free-flowing drinks as well. Quality food in large quantities has been the staple of Las Vegas hospitality and the all-you-can-eat buffet is served at nearly every casino. For more serious dining, Las Vegas provides a number of good restaurants. Each of the large casinos features at least 4 or 6 restaurants.
