Manuel Antonio National Park, covering an area in excess of 600 hectares, is one of the most pristine natural corners and ecozones in Costa Rica. The entire area is extremely well preserved through government and local initiatives, simply because it is one of the rare places where as many as three eco-zones converge. Beautiful views of the ocean waters on one side, great greenery, and amazing wildlife on the other make Manuel Antonio National Park one of the most beautiful regions in this Caribbean country.
Manuel Antonio Flora and Fauna
Manuel Antonio comprises three distinct ecozones, including rainforest, beaches and coral reefs. As a result, the sheer diversity of flora and fauna in this region is simply mind-blowing. It is the home of sloths, the rare and exiting squirrel monkeys, iguanas as well as colorful crabs that inhabit the marina. The dense rainforest opens up into a beautiful crescent-shaped Playa Manuel Antonio stretches for a half a mile, joining lush vegetation on one side and a beautiful private cove on the other. Standing here, facing turquoise blue water, where waves follow waves in sure repetition, with the green foliage behind you is an experience to cherish.
The presence of the reef region makes scuba-diving a very popular activity. You can check out the beautiful corals as well as the colorful subterranean species during your visit to this amazing destination.
