When you are cliff diving at the Rick’s Cafíé in Negril, remember it is all about diving and should not appear like jumping. If your dive looks more like an awkward jump, chances are that you will be looked down upon, even booed, by other divers! However, Rick’s Cafíé is not only about cliff diving. This 2-storey restaurant of Rick’s Cafíé, Negril on Jamaica’s westernmost point is a perfect venue to see the sun go down. Like many Jamaican hotspots, Rick’s Cafe in Negril Jamaica with its pool serves as a restaurant as well as a night club, and serves a large number of unique and local flavors. Chicken Jerk, anyone!
Rick’s Cafíé, established by Richard Hershman in April 1974, opened its door at such a time when Negril was a sleepy fishing village with little development and modern facilities. It was the first public bar and restaurant of its type on the West End Cliffs, offering another substitute to the majestic seven mile beach of Negril.
From the outset, Rick’s Cafe boasts an unsurpassed view of the sunset from its naturally formed cliffs. Over the years, visitors have pointed it out as one of the premier gathering spots in Jamaica. Menus
Rick’s Cafíé serves a variety of delicacies to satisfy the palate. Some of the house specialties include Banana Flambe, Boombastic Banana Rum Cake, Escoveitch Snapper, Frozen Key Lime Cheesecake, Hurricane Blackened Tuna, Island Jerk Chicken, Jerk Chicken Pasta, Lobster Linguini, West End Trio.
In addition to them, the restaurant also serves an extensive list of wine. After a thrilling jump, enjoy a cold Red Stripe beer and some jerk chicken. The bar menu comprises traditional sandwiches and burgers.
Rick’s in-house band Dollyman performs 7 days a week. The best time to be at Rick’s Cafíé is at sunset when you will get the majestic view of sunset in to the sea and listen to the live reggae music. Live reggae music is a nice touch and as the evening goes on, it becomes a dynamic dance floor.
With its tasteful decoration, eclectic atmosphere, well-stocked bar and impressive menu, Rick’s Cafíé, Negril is the ideal destination to relax and unwind. Dining in Rick’s Cafíé is really a delightful experience.
