An amazing mystery that has been unsolved even just a few days back, an alluring beauty that has been hidden deep beneath the Earth's surface, one of the greatest natural marvels on this planet and the largest crystals that have been discovered ever — Crystal Cave of Giants is one of the amazing cryptical beauties in the world. It is truly full of characters, to be more precise — full of some unusual characters. Hidden under the surface of Earth, Crystal Cave of Giants has Selenite crystals up to 36 feet long that may weigh up to 55 tons. The cave, due to its depth, has got an unusual high temperature that may reach up to 136°F or 57°C and hence human beings cannot survive there more than 10-15 minutes without proper protection. So, it has certainly got the attraction — probably the fatal attraction. However, as a tourist with proper protection, it is always extremely thrilling to explore the cave. Crystal Cave of Giants, also known as Cueva de los Cristales, is located in the Naica Mine in the state of Chihuahua in Mexico. 1000 feet under the Naica Mountain in the Chihuahuan Desert, Crystal Cave of Giants was discovered by two miners while excavating a new tunnel through the Naica fault in the year 2000. They were pumping out the water from the cave in search of silver, lead and zinc and ended up in discovering the amazing crystal formation.

Things to Do

Crystal Cave of Giants is amazing. But before you visit it, you must have precautionary measures. The temperature may reach up to 57°C with 100% humidity. Due to this high temperature, many travelers found to be collapsed and had to be evacuated immediately after entering the site. As a result, the mining company had to close the tourism inside the cave. Therefore, before you go to visit Crystal Cave of Giants, you need to check beforehand whether the site is currently open for the visitors or not.

As you start your journey to the Crystal Cave of Giants, you need to pass through almost a mile of earth in an increasing intense heat before you reach into the cave. The temperature increases gradually and reaches at such a level that can even cause hallucinations and brain disorders. As you reach into the cave, the “Eye of the Queen” will make you spellbound. The lighted cave seems like a cathedral.
