An integral part of the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial, the Gateway Arch, is located in the city of St. Louis in Missouri, USA. Designed by Finnish-American architect Eero Saarinen and structural engineer Hannskarl Bandel, the construction of the Gateway Arch started on 12th February, 1963. It took almost 2½ years to complete this 630 feet tall monument. On 24th July, 1967, the Gateway Arch was opened to the public.
