Located in the northern region of Colorado, the Rocky Mountain National Park is one of the National Historic Landmark in the United States. The Park has a unique combination of mountains, wildlife, forests and tundra. Each season has something to offer. In summers, pristine views of lakes and flowers on the alpine tundra greet you. In fall, you may see more wildlife. This is the mating season for bulls and elks. Be at the Horseshoe park or the Beaver Meadows to witness them moving towards warmer climes. The brilliant fall colors of Aspen trees are a treat to behold. Winters are best spent at the higher climes at the Never Summer ranch or snowmobiling at the Aspen. The coyote or the calf moose moving about is also a memory that you will take home. Spring brings the new beginning in the wildflowers, pasqueflowers and the chirping of the bluebirds. You can see squirrels moving about after their long hibernation.

Things to Do

There are a host of things to do. There are a number of hiking and driving trails which will allow you to find yourself right in the midst of nature. You can see wildlife or go fishing. You can camp in the many camp sites that are there in this great American outdoor. Skiing and Snowmobiling are popular pastimes in the winter. If you are the extreme adventure kind, mountain climbing expeditions could be just for you. Appreciate the view at the Bear Lake. The easy Mummy Range or the snow capped Never Summer mountains can give you an experience that you will cherish for a long time.

Other Activities

Cross Country skiing and snowshoeing are popular in the winter. Hidden valley is a long established ski center. If you do not like snow, be on the Trail Ridge Road or the Fall River Road to appreciate the scenic beauty. The park headquarters, Beaver Meadows Visitor Center is a National Historic Landmark and was designed by the great Frank Lloyd Wright. It is hard to miss.

Accommodation

Accommodation at the Rocky Mountain national park is easy to find. It is a very well known national park and hence tourist facilities are well established. One can also camp or backpack across the trails. However they must ensure that they leave no trace of themselves at the park. All refuse has to be carried back.
