The Pitons in St. Lucia are dual volcanic plugs joined by a ridge. This UNESCO World Heritage Site comprises of Petit Piton at 743 meter and Gros Piton at 771 meters. Of the toe Pitons, Gros Piton lies closer to Beaumont Point Headland at the southern end of Soufriere Bay, while Petit Piton lies towards the center. Located on the southeastern coast of St. Lucia Island, The Pitons are accessible from Choiseul and Soufriere towns and attract tourists during all months of the year.

St. Lucia Pitons are characterized by hot mud ponds and sulfur springs. In Soufriere caldera you would notice the remnants of early volcanic activity. The importance of the Pitons can be understood from the fact that the local beer manufactured from St. Lucia is named after these two volcanic plugs.

Climbing the Pitons is a thrilling activity, which takes about five hours. A boat ride in Piton Bay is invigorating and entertaining. A fishing expedition is also a stress relieving activity on your trip to the Pitons in the Caribbean.
